Babylon Area

The founders instructed you to go down your teams bridge and head for the battle zone. You do as instructed and walk into the glowing portal. There is a flash of bright light and you wait for your eyes to clear. When you can finally see again you find yourself in a grassy plain. The grass beneath your feet is brittle and sparse. You see mountains ahead of you and to your right. The air is dry and hot and you think you see sand dunes to your left. The air shimmers slightly as you look around. The only other person near you is your partner.

You're prepared for just about anything so the question is now, what do you do? Do you take the time to get to know your partner or do you move out to get as far as you can as fast as you can? Right before you make your decision you realize there is something in your hand. It's a piece of paper. Upon closer inspection you discover that it's a map! You recognize markings for trees and what appears to be a river and lake. A green star indicates where you are and there are 4 other red stars.

"You must go to each of the challenges required. If you pass you will gain information on where the finish line is as well as a flag. The team with the most flags at the end of the race wins." You hear Druantia's words again. "There are other optional challenges. You can either complete them and gain extra flags or go straight for the finish line. Good luck." Her words fade away.

The first thing Suzume did was crouch down and pick a blade of grass, examining it, before casting it aside and standing up straight once more and turning to his partner.

'Well,' he said with a sigh, trying not to look like he was looking down on her due to his impressive height, 'I reckon our best bet is to start moving whilst talking, so we kill two birds with one stone. What's your opinions on that? My name's Suzume, by the way, pleased to meet ya.'

Sophia stood by and watched as her partner examine the surroundings. He then stood up and introduced himself. "Nice to meet you too! Sophia Corvus, at your service. And I think that is a great idea. Now should we explore everywhere to see if we can find additional flags or go straight to each challenge marked here on this map?" Sophia rolled out her map and showed it to Suzume.

Calvin glanced around casually, shaking hands with his partner before slapping his arm and pulling Matyas towards whichever direction seemed logical. "I'm Calvin! Ashe! Pleased to meet'cha, dude. I've seen you around before, so it's cool we can finally meet." He immediately heads for the mountains, pulling his map out and reading it as he ran. "Hope you can keep up with me~!" he sing-songs, his dash remaining steady so his partner could run at the same speed as him.

'I reckon the best idea is to head North to the closest mark,' he responded calmly, 'Should I lead the way, or should you?'

"Does it really matter?" Sophia smiled. She held out her map and pointed straight ahead. "We go straight ahead and if we get lost, we still have this map." Sophia reached out to Suzume and grabbed his wrist, pulling him along to the north towards the first challenge. As they begin running, she fumbles with her backpack and pulls out a compass to make sure they were running straight in the right direction. ((Do we actually have backpacks with compasses in them? Because if not, we can just be running straight.))

Suzume followed, trying not to overtake his teammate whilst still keeping pace. He hadn't done any fighting in a long time, and, though he didn't like to admit it, he was looking forward to it. A bit.

As you both begin moving toward the mountains, the winds shift and you see in the distance to the west a tower of impressive size, it clearly is easily avoided and could never be one of the required challenges. You can continue forward through the grass to mountains north of you or you can move west toward the tower.

Suzume's eyes turned purple and a grin spread across his face as he pointed to the tower.

'Treasure!' he commented, 'Flags aplenty, too! I can sense it! Let's go!'

Sophia's eyes widened at the sight of the shimmering castle that appeared to the west. She turned to Suzume the same time he turned to her, but was thrown aback at the stark change in eye color. Quickly casting it aside, she started to urge him to go towards the castle, but Suzume, at least she still thought it was Suzume, beat her to the punch. After he spoke his words, Kara felt herself get pulled instead. Without resistance, she ran with her partner towards the castle to the west. As they were running, Sophia remembered that she still hasn't gotten to know her parnter very well yet, so she asked her parnter about his sudden eye color change, all whilst running of course.

'Ten spirits, one body!' Jadine chimed, 'It's complicated really. I'm Jadine! My eyes are purple, see!'

He easily kept pace with Sophia, in a rather bouncy, jovial way, the joyous grin never leaving his expression

Sophia giggled at Jadine's bouncy personality and smile, "I see! So each time your eyes change color, it's a different person? Do you guys fight over who is actually present in the body?" Sophia was so fascinated by her partner that time just went out the window. They had put a good distance between them and the spot they stopped as earlier.

(Tower not castle, it is a HUGE and TALL single tower, no castle structure)

As you move forward nothing particularly happens, the grass plains sway some in the wind and it seems like the wind keeps changing direction

Jadine continued running along in his bouncy manner, nearly losing Suzume's waistjacket in the process, but recovering it just before it slipped off his shoulders.

"That's pretty cool," Sophia gushed, wondering what would it feel like to have nine other spirits in her body. Sophia's left pig tail blew onto her face and she pushed it away, keeping tempo with her partner. The TOWER was looming ahead, merely a few minutes away. All of a sudden, her right pig tail flew on her face and she realized for the first time that the long grass around her seemed to be swaying back and forth. "Hey, does the wind seem a bit off to you? Or is it supposed to be like this?"

'The wind's been doing that for a while,' Jadine replied with a childish smile, 'I just assumed it was normal!'

Not even stopping, he took ahold of his plait and undid it, letting his now mid-shin length hair blow in the odd winds.

'Look!' he exclaimed, 'I'm a wind sock!'

Jadine's hair is now a rather effective (and annoyingly long) impromptu wind sock, able to track the direction of the winds

Sophia couldn't help but laugh at Jadine's hair whipping back and forth in the wind. She was about to make a comment about his hair when all of a sudden, he came to an abrupt stop with her soon following. There, in front of them, was the tower. Standing there at the base, Sophia felt mighty small compared to the tower of this massive size.

"We're here," she said to Jadine, all the joking gone. The atmosphere just felt so serious to her, as if something, she wasn't sure what, was going to happen. She turned to her partner, whose hair continued to whip back and forth, and asked, "So now what?" Sophia walked towards the tower and decided to look for a way in, somehow. "Maybe there's a door somewhere here.... Oh! Found it!" Motioning Jadine over, Sophia grabbed the door handle and attempted to pull it open, but it didn't budge. "Huh. It won't open. Maybe you can try." Sophia moved out of the way so that Jadine could try to open the door.

((No idea if this is acceptable.... Just felt like I had to get things moving....))
