PostSubject: Chinese Area   Chinese Area EmptyThu Jul 12, 2012 11:01 pm

You head down your teams bridge just as instructed and pass through the glowing portal that leads into the battle zone. There is a bright flash and you are momentarily blind. You blink and as your vision returns you find yourself in a stony area with rugged mountains in the distance. To your left and your right are rivers. The only other person near you is your partner. Although rocky, there are trees and plants growing around you. The air is hot and humid and you're not sure what animal sounds you are hearing.

You're prepared for just about anything so the question is now, what do you do? Do you take the time to get to know your partner or do you move out to get as far as you can as fast as you can? Right before you make your decision you realize there is something in your hand. It's a piece of paper. Upon closer inspection you discover that it's a map! You recognize markings for trees and what appears to be a river and lake. A green star indicates where you are and there are 4 other red stars.

"You must go to each of the challenges required. If you pass you will gain information on where the finish line is as well as a flag. The team with the most flags at the end of the race wins." You hear Druantia's words again. "There are other optional challenges. You can either complete them and gain extra flags or go straight for the finish line. Good luck." Her words fade away.

What do you do?

(( Usually in a forum Role Play setting people use a paragraph style format.

It's like writing a short story. 3-5 sentences is considered a paragraph. The first thing you do is describe what your character is doing. At this point in the RP your character will be looking around, observing their surroundings, and introducing themselves to their partner. You'll ask your partner what you both should do and once a decision is made the Founder/admin will continue the rp by describing what happens next. And then your characters will respond with a reaction. This will continue until your team makes it to the finish line.

When you are not role playing as your character it is suggested you put your text between parenthesis "(( .....))" that way people know you are speaking 'out of character'. ))

Alicia looked around to get her bearings, taking in the position of the sun, the direction of the wind. This was it, the first battle. She scanned over the form of her ally, a boy who looked about the same age as her. Although she didn't know much about him, that wouldn't inhibit their success in this battle as long as they didn't dawdle.

"I'm Alicia, a member of the Greek Team. It looks like we'll be working together for the time being." She raised the map in her hands. "It seems like our path is fairly straight. If we make good time we can hopefully get everything done before nightfall. Let's walk and talk."

Haine used his special made glass to scan over the horizon to get a better understand of the terrain. While scanning through the proximity he spot a female figure holding a piece of paper. He walk toward her while trying to think about a conversation.

"Hey there, I'm Haine Yuki, call me Haine for short. I'm a member of Babylon Team. It seem that there is just two of us here." He sit down and check his equipment to make sure everything is 100% working smoothly and make few adjustment to cope with the environment. Then he look at her say "Here you go (a handmade hover board), a present for our first meeting. This will get us to the destination on time for the first battle we might come against." Unfortunately, he realize he just make one and there is not enough resource for another board. So he insisted piggy back her to the board and rush to the first area.

((lol, slow and steady Jy XD))

Alicia was dubious of the contraption Haine had with him and was bemused by his suggestion of piggy backing, but his assurance of it's speed settled her nerves at trusting her Babylonian ally.

"If this thing decides to crash on us, I'm jumping off," Alicia joked as she climbed on, glad she had opted for pants and boots as part of her battle attire.

She directed them towards the first mark, the wind whipping past them as they rode towards the unknown.

As they hover through the empty field and getting close the destination. Haine spot a very thin fading image appear right on the destination spot. As such, Haine check his scanner reading and surprisingly there is no life form detected in the scanner.

Haine take moment and asked Alicia " did you see something about the there? It seem like there is a person standing right over there" Haine slow down the hover board and get down from it. Again he said "let check it out" He look at Alicia face "wow what happen to you?" with a shocking chatter. Meanwhile, Haine start to get nervous over the strange appearance over the horizon. (squat down and bring out some charm to pray with) thinking 'maybe is a ghost!!'

"If you had long hair, you'd look like a mess too after that ride," Alicia huffed as she flipped her hair out of her face after hopping off the board, which hadn't exactly been a smooth ride.

Even though she had been somewhat blinded by her unruly hair, she had indeed spotted the translucent image. "I didn't get a good look at it, but it seemed human." Amused by Haine's sudden onset of religiousness, she attempted to reassure him by saying as she tied her hair back, "Whatever it is, I doubt it can overpower the both of us. Let's keep our eyes open."

Seeing that Haine had some mess up hair as well so end up tidy himself up. Either way he is worry about what they might encounter will be very difficult handle. Haine look at his Greek teammate and said "well let get going we want wasting more time". Fast paste walk directly to the object.

So as Haine walk closer to the mysterious object and said "hmm...that person look familiar" So he got a little more closer. As the pressure grow thicker by every step closer to the person. He armed himself with his claws ready just in case of an surprise attack.

((Since you've not clearly detailed any actual actions, I can't mod this properly

Uggggggggggh. You know what? Fine. I'm just going to end up assuming, aren't I? So be it. Watch the argument roll up >.>))

As you and your partner approach the person to take a closer look, the ground begins to shake lightly and a low rumbling echoes all around. As you look at the person, you discover that it is, in fact, a statue made of terracotta. Now officially too close, you barely dodge as the statue swings down its heavy cleaver-like weapon.

As you step back, the rumbling gets louder and the quakes heavier, as hands burst out of the ground. One of them manages to latch onto your leg.

One by one, terracotta soldiers erupt from the ground, brandishing all manner of weapons.

All, that is, except the two holding you and your partner's ankle.

The Battle System used in the Chinese Area is a stat-based battle system. Though it appears complicated, it's quite simple once you get used to it. I'll compile a Guide sometime soon so you know how it works. All you'll have to do is RP and state what action your character takes, and I will handle the rest as the DM

((here I go! ~))

The grip of the creature holding Alicia's ankles that left her vulnerable to the strikes of their weapon-wielding ally was ironclad. A quick glance to her side revealed Haine being in an identical stuck situation. She doesn't hesitate to pull her hook blades from her back with a quick pop to unlatch the weapons from their holsters. With a swift twirl of her blades, Alicia attempts slice to through the wrists of the warrior that immobilized her legs.
